The dinner took place in the Pyne Room and Martin began by remarking how school dinners have changed since the 1970s. He also recalled he had taken both his entrance exam and 11+ in the Pyne Room. With reference to a variety of amusing, dramatic and heart-breaking situations he has faced while serving with the police, Martin talked about his key values in the role of Chief Constable, the leadership qualities he tries to prioritise and some of the challenges facing the police today.
